I substitute an Ant king instead of Dragon king; and change Windrider to be blind. My edited scene is below:

Father's story went like this:

I had gone to sleep with the others, but I woke up to find myself on a strange beach. I can felt that I was sitting on a beach. I scooped up some of the sand and feel that it really tiny sapphires that made noises like laughter when I rubbed some of them between my palms. Behind me rose steep-sided mountains of amber, on which had been carved words of great power to try to bind the creatures who lived within. The giant animals moved about inside the mountains silently, with a weak sound of crashing with walls . The sea itself was still and calm. There was not the slightest surge of surf, and no wind stirred its surface. It was a strange, deep, and sometimes there were waves, the sound of wave was pleasing, pleasing to be heard, pleasing to be seen, perhaps I could see the waves in my next life.
Then I walked around the beach slowly to avoid stepping on sharp stones, drawn up in ranks, regiment after regiment of strange, silent, scaled soldiers, I knew they were soldiers when I heard the sound of matching, but I paid little attention to them. They went to the same the direction, for there, lying in the middle of the beach, was an great ant, perhaps it was as big as a lion,I knew it because I touched it after my feet kicked it accidentally.
His great head lay pillowed against a sand dune and a dozen or more soldiers waved their wicker shields with big noise, trying to fan cool air upon him. His head was round and shaped like a ball, with the great eyes half-opened as he tried to look around. His palpi were like those of a cockroach, but they were shorter. There were streamers of the black flesh of some luckless opponent still clinging to some of the points, though other soldiers were trying to clean them off. His body was as big and powerful as that of a lion, but he had eight legs. The pad of each foot though, was leather hard. Because this ant had a metal body, I knew him for the Imperial Ant, for only royal family have a metal body. All the other ants are born with black body. In the middle of his forehead was a great diamond that I can feel its sharpness, which gleamed like the moon on a cold, crisp autumn night; but its luster was fading. His vast chest heaved up and down and his legs were folded into his sides. His face were still flecked with blood and his own sweat, it was too wet to be touched. He was also growing bald for an ant: He was so old that the scales at the top of his head had began to flake off and expose the soft, white skin beneath.

Small Class Teaching

In Hong Kong, small class teaching has been a popular topic for a few years; people think that small class teaching can improve the quality of teaching. Government try hard to carry out this new concept, government wants to change the maximum number of students in a secondary school class from 40 to 36; but is it work?

Small class teaching is free, the parents don’t need to pay for it, and It may also make students improve. If students study in a smaller class, they can be more concentrate; because the teachers can supervise them more easily. Teachers can take care of the results of students, beside, the efficiency of learning and teaching will be improved. Small class teaching can reduce the pressures of teachers, and the works of teachers. It can increase the communications between teachers and students, students have more opportunities to participate in class activities. Students have chances to express their ideas and opinions; it may help to improve students’ results of study.

Every issue can be see from different perspectives, there are advantages for small class teaching; but there are also some disadvantages. Small class teaching costs a lot, and there are some failure examples of small class teaching. In a few states of America, people need to pay more taxes for small class teaching; but unfortunately it doesn’t make a big improvement, like in California. It may cause a financial burden of government; the government may reduce the expenditure of other category, such as welfare.

A survey of education in England point out that a successful teaching mode should be co-operate with attention of parents, good attitude of learning of students and suitable teaching method of teachers. In Hong Kong, teachers don’t have any courses that train them to be small class teachers, so that they may not be affective on teaching in small class. Then the expenditure of small class teaching will be wasted.

What did I learn today?

Today, in the computer lesson, I learnt touch typing; I thought it was difficult, because I couldn't look at the keyboard when I was typing. Although it was difficult, I would practise and try my best to do it for my exam marks. It could also make my typing faster, and this was what I've dreamed of for a long time.
I don't learn those inventor qualities in my school, society and family; they just ask me to do well in exam and study harder. I think the society is not trying to make us to be scientists or inventors, they want us to be money factory; whatever we do must be related to the economy of Hong Kong. The government wants us to make Hong Kong more famous and richer, they always think of profit. I watched a TV program that have interviewed a jewellery designer, the jewellery agreed that the government wanted to invest the government's money to Hong Kong's tourism or something else. Government don't want to invest money in science or jewel business. I think that's why we don't learn those inventor qualities in Hong Kong.

What are five basic qualities that a good inventor might have?

I think the five basic qualities that a good inventor might have is creative, efforts, observing, interested in inventing and also have a person who appreciate him.

A good inventor might be creative because a inventor need to create invention. One of the synonyms of invent is create; that's mean when you invent something, you create something, so a inventor must be creative.

Also, a good inventor require efforts; for example, Thomas Edison who invented light bulb, he tried more that 2,000 times for different material. So, if a inventor cannot persis in trying, what he will get is only failure.

Then observing, a good inventor need to observe every experiment result carefully, if not, he may fail to invent better things and lose the chance to learn new knowledge. Beside, the inventor always observe in daily life of ideas to invent new things.

And interested in inventing, if he don't interested in inventing, he won't be hard working and keep on trying. Interests always motivate people to do things and not to quit; also he has passion of inventing.
At last, a good inventor must have a person who appreciate him; a inventor needs money to produce his products, so a rich man can help him to do this. Furthermore, everyone needs somebody who have common interest with themselves.
Which revolution does Hong Kong need?
I think Hong Kong don't need any revolution, because Hong Kong is not strong enough to be independent. Hong Kong don't have perfect policies, and Hong Kong don't have any power to defeat China. China have a mighty army, but we don't have any army in Hong Kong. Although Hong Kong's economy is well-developed, it's still not stable. Hong Kong people used to be ruled by China, they can't accept a big change of the society. I think the main reason is about Hong Kong government, they made many advertisements hypnotized citizens that all of us are chinese; and China is our country. In these years, people's sensibility of belonging to China have increased. So that, I think we don't need and we can't have revolution in Hong Kong.

Number the Stars

Lois Lowry was borned in 1937 in Hawaii, Hololulu. Since his father was a soldier, they always move; when the World War II started, she moved to her mum's home with her mum's family. She learnt writing in Brown University, but she stoped studying before she graduated and she got marry. Unfortunately, after they gave birth to the forth child, they separated. Finally, she got a degree; she earned money by doing a housekeeping job, on the other hand, she kept writing stories.

Lois Lowry's books' ideas were always inspired by her life, like her chlidren's adventures and their life. Her first novel, A Summer to Die, was inspired by her sister who die in cancer; this story described the complicated feeling of a thirdteen-year-old girl watching her own sister walking on the road of death. A Summer to Die won an award, after that, she published about twenty novels for teenagers.

Even though, Lois Lowry was seventy years old, she was still very active and kept writing books. I think she was a very good writer because of her passion of writing.

history assignment

The seaports of America were expanded by the wheat trade, but Hong Kong is a transit port; and Britian supplied british clock to China, then China supplied chinese tea to Britian. Their goods would transit by Hong Kong's seaports.

The colonists in America revolted against the british government, since their natural rights and general welfare were deprived; Hong Kong people didn't start any wars to against Britain, the colonists of Hong Kong were passiver than the colonists in America.

Both of America and Hong Kong had governer to rule the colonies, and had legislative council. These forthteen colonies were under the common law's control, but there was a difference. Although the Constitution of Unites States was created by the thirdteen colonies, the basic law was based on the common law.

After being the colonies of Britain, both of Hong Kong and America became a internation economical center; They were developed and they prospered their own shipping business.

Today, we went to the Ocean Park, it's a nice place. We were having a fun day, our group members went up to the hill and played. It's really exciting to play in Ocean Park; we all were enjoyed. We also took two courses about the pandas and dolphins; I learnt somethings new and the course instructors were pretty funny. I enjoyed the seminar on dolphins most because the instructor was funny, they also had some special information that I was interested in, like why fishing in the sea would kill the dolphins. I think the seminar was very well-presented; although some of our classmates fell asleep during the seminar, I enjoyed this seminar on dolphins most. If we are going to the Ocean Park again, I will take more photos for my mum.

History assignment

I was Jackson Lawrence. I was borned in Rome in 1447, I lived in Italy with my italian wife. My job was a painter, I chosed this job for my interested. Unfortunately, I was not very famous. I could earn a little money by selling my painting, but perhaps the buyer didn't enjoy my painting. I thought they were just buying artistic production for showing off their money and pretending that they were experts of art.
I usually did my painting in the morning and at the afternoon, I never did any painting at night. The reason of not painting at night was I wanted to have some inspiration at those elegant nights. Sometimes, I would talk with my wife and we planned for a better life.
I lived until I was seventy eight years old, in 1525. I felt satisfied when I died because I had a wonderful life with my wife and I got two son when I was thirty five years old. Both of my sons were good at art, one of them was sculptor and another one was a musician. I died without any pity.
I am reading Dragonwings, I took this photo on sunday (10/2) in my room.

If I need to abandon everything familiar for the completely unknown, I think it is a interesting experience. I think it will be interesting because I think that a new envoirnment can change a person, but sometimes the changes are negative. If a person is in a bad situation, he/she will be either tough or crazy. Many different things can be learned when we have a new envoirnment. I like adventure, that's why I like going to new place and learning new things.

History assignment

I think the distribution of power of modern Hong Kong is same as the Middle Ages, because it's still a person who hold the power and control Hong Kong, like the kings in Middle Ages. Government always said that we have a fair society, but I think if there is a king who is in control, it won't be a fair society. The people who have special rights, they still have great power. That' why I don't think the distribution of power of modern Hong Kong has changed.
